Climate Change and Clean Energy are cross-cutting sectors for MPI, integrated into all its projects and areas of action. Through these initiatives, MPI seeks to promote environmental sustainability, reduce its ecological footprint, and empower communities with practical solutions that improve both livelihoods and resilience.

Solar panels were installed at the Welcoming House to improve energy efficiency. MPI is also expanding its clean energy initiative by securing funding for solar installations at the Tennis Court (the new MPI center in Kireka) and at the MPI Head Quarter. Additionally, MPI promotes clean cooking and lighting solutions for its beneficiaries, partnering with service providers specializing in energy-efficient stoves and solar technologies. This initiative aims to educate women on sustainable alternatives, benefiting both the community and the environment.
A borehole was installed with a solar pumping system at the Ssonde Farm to ensure continuous and sustainable irrigation. This investment strengthens the farm’s agricultural productivity while demonstrating MPI’s commitment to renewable energy and resource efficiency in all its operations.
